Amazon still isn’t talking, but heavy earth-moving equipment was at work last week on the 115-acre site of a future fulfillment center off of Interstate-10 just east of El Paso’s city limits.

When completed, it will be a building like nothing El Paso has seen – with a $192 million price tag, a footprint covering 625,000 square feet, five stories reaching 100-feet high and 3.1 million square feet of inside floor space.

Far East El Paso’s first ‘smart-growth’ shopping center is almost ready to open.

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – Far East El Paso is set to expand with it’s first Smart Growth shopping center.

Smart Growth is an approach to development that encourages a mix of building types, diverse housing and transportation options, creating development within existing communities and increasing engagement within those communities.

River Oaks Properties officials announced that Far East El Paso’s first Smart Growth shopping center is nearing completion and will be ready for tenants within the next 30 days and shoppers soon after that.

The 40,000 square-foot shopping center will be open to tenants within 30 days
