That started with the large Eastlake Marketplace, open for several years, and the adjoining Eastlake Commons, at Interstate 10 and Eastlake, with mostly national chain stores and restaurants. Cinemark is building a large movie theater/entertainment complex on land it owns on the edge of the Eastlake Marketplace.
Here’s a look at River Oaks’ newest centers on Eastlake:
The Market at Darrington
Eastlake Boulevard and Darrington Road
A 63,000 square-foot Albertsons supermarket, expected to open in early November, is anchoring the 108,350-square foot center under construction on the Horizon City border.
Other tenants so far:Nusenda Credit Union’s first new branch building in El Paso, McDonald’s, Circle K, and Heartland Dental, a national dentistry chain, will be on pad sites on the edges of the center; national chains Buffalo Wild Wings, Earl of Sandwich, and Twisted Sugar
Falcon Village
12900 Eastlake Blvd., at Peyton Drive
The 47,800 square-foot center was completed in February. It’s across the street from where The Hospitals of Providence plans to put a medical office building, and later a hospital.
Tenants so far: Starbucks and the second location of the local Better Days Bar & Grill are open; El Paso chain restaurants Buen Dia, Wing Kings, and Verde Salad Co., will be in buildings on pod sites in the middle of the center’s parking lot. Thai Sol, a local restaurant; national chain restaurant Teriyaki Madness; and Let’s Golf, a new El Paso indoor golf facility and restaurant.
Eastlake Square
13649 Eastlake Blvd., near Darrington Road
The 19,200, traditional strip center is across the street from the huge The Retreat at Eastlake Apartments under construction.
Tenants so far: Global Coffee, El Paso coffee shop’s third location; second location for El Paso restaurant Yamagucchi Ramen Bar, Tres Tortilla Supermarket, new El Paso Mexican bakery and restaurant that also will sell products from Mexico, Frank said; and national franchises Teapioca Lounge, Pizza Hut, and Carl’s Jr.
Eastlake Square is next to the large, and almost full Eastlake Promenade center, with a Union Draft House that opened in late 2022, Dunkin’ Donuts, and Boozy Tacos among its larger tenants. It was built by young developer Chris Malooly Jr.’s EPX Construction Partners.
